You may even know someone who has been targeted but doesn’t have the confidence to do anything about it. The world often portrays life as being dominated by those who have superior “power”. What if there was a way to obtain ultimate confidence, reliable self-defense, and mastery of your true self? Many people who train, or those who may not train as much, have a misconception of what true strength is. There are many different systems of combat, self-defense, and martial arts that may not emphasize the concept of yin and yang, soft and hard or empty and full. Wing Chun, is one of the few arts that gave birth to the concept of harmonizing soft and hard principles to overcome an enemy. Signs of a High-Functioning Alcoholic | Alcoholism

Full Playlist - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLALQuK1NDrhxFSGjriWw0nZ5Uc1MV3V8&app=desktop A question that's frequently posed is whether people can be high functioning alcoholics and that's a tricky question because there's no clear criteria that we use to say someone's high functioning versus low functioning. Often, people have stereotypes of what an alcoholic is and I think when people think of a high functioning alcoholic, it's often because of those stereotypes and often the stereotypes are of the person stumbling down the street or the person who's kind of who we used to call a bum who's dirty and disheveled but often what we have is people who are alcoholic or who have alcoholic problems who really are, they still have families, they still maintain their jobs and they may in fact have very high level jobs. So what does that mean? How is that person considered to have an alcohol problem? Well, it goes to what the criteria is for an alcohol use disorder. So I've worked with many people over the years who fit into that category, are extremely high functioning people in their lives but usually what you start seeing is some deterioration in some part of their lives. They often are drinking much more than they think they are and often what they do is they also hide their drinking. They may drink quite "normally." In other words, they may go out to - they may have work functions in which they control their drinking. They may drink exactly as other people are drinking. In fact, that's often what happens is that people will look around them at their context, their social context and if people are having just one or two glasses of wine, they'll have one or two glasses of wine. That's what they'll do so as not to draw attention to their drinking but if people are kind of drinking more heavily, they'll go right along with the crowd. But again, if they have one or two glasses of wine, what they'll do is they'll go home and when they're alone, they'll continue drinking to get that desired affect of being inebriated whereas the other people would go home and go to bed. The other thing they may do, again, they'll hide their drinking so they may often impose rules upon themselves where they'll never drink before 5:00, they won't drink at lunch, the three martini lunch that we used to hear about a lot, it doesn't happen in that many contexts anymore but it does in some. There may be the people who travel, the executive who travels a lot who may drink on a plane and maybe get drunk but go to sleep and then be fine for when they're at their business meeting. Again, really hiding their drinking. We particularly see hidden alcohol problems in women more so than in men and that's a lot about social contexts and social stigma that is different for women than for men.

Alcohol Rehab FAQ | Alcoholism

Full Playlist - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLALQuK1NDrihXDFdgnwQqmV_NVjGxqde People are often curious about what kinds of treatment there is for alcohol problems. When people who are most interested in alcohol rehab, when people think of alcohol rehabilitation facilities, they are usually referring to inpatient rehab facilities. The standard alcoholism rehabs are what's called 28 day facilities and they are one month treatments. In those treatments, there's many many alcohol rehab treatments across treatment centers across the United States. Most them provide very similar treatments to each other and that usually consists of very intensive days. Usually people are housed in, sometimes it's private rooms, sometimes it's not. Some treatment centers allow people to have phones or computers. Many do not allow that because they really want people to focus solely on their treatment and what they're doing there so what alcohol inpatient rehab does is it immerses people in treatment for alcohol. They live and breathe the treatment 24 hours a day. Usually that treatment consists of a variety of group therapy sessions each day. Often, individual therapy session each day and often inpatient rehabs during the course of that month long stay, usually during the third week of treatment, they may have families come and have a few days of intensive work with the families, sometimes with the primary patient and sometimes without the patient. It's usually a combination of both. So those treatments are usually considered by many the gold standard of substance abuse treatment. As an addiction professional, I don't have that view. I think alcohol inpatient is extremely important for many people, particularly people who have a history of trying to stop and maybe successfully stopping but then resuming using. Often those people are people who really need that time away. They need that time. The other group of those people who can never stop. They really need that protected environment where they know they're going to get a month of clean time, where the stop and they can really focus on themselves during that month. The thing that people have to always be careful of is seeing the 30 day as the be all and end all. It's an extremely important step in treatment but it's just one step and then people need to be referred to outpatient aftercare treatment so they have an ongoing treatment where they're looking at their problem and touching it everyday. So when most people are asking about rehabilitation, they're asking about 28 day inpatient rehabilitation facilities and that is the generally the standard for inpatient treatment of alcohol issues.

How to Do a Home Workout with a Step | Sexy Butt

Full Playlist - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLALQuK1NDrgqWemjCGNsw3o_7MrzRIJv So, I'm going to show you some at home work outs you can do for a sexy butt, with a step. Using a step is really great. It adds a little bit more range of motion in your exercise. So, even you can take the simple squat, traditional squat. Legs are shoulder width apart, but you can do it with one foot on the box, or step and one foot off. So, you're just going to squat all the way down, and up. A really great thing to do, is to transfer that weight into the leg, so when you squat down, you can press through that left side, and bring it up. So you really get deep into that left glute and back of the leg area. Squatting down, pressing up, squatting down, pressing up. More advanced, you can use weights with this. You can incorporate other body parts. You can add a knee raise with it, then you can also do a side shuffle on the box as well. Squatting down, taking that foot, shuffling over. So you're just switching sides, getting deep into each side, just like that. That's also a great way to get that heart rate going. You can take it even faster. More of a little cardio, glute exercise here. A few other things, you could do a curtsey lunge here, with your step. So, just leaving one foot on, stepping the back leg all the way down, and up, you can switch to the other side, or you can stand one side, burning out one side. This is really good. It adds even more of a focus on the glute here. Sitting all the way down, so you have more range of motion to get even lower here, and then press up. So again, you can just stay here, take it down and up this way. Ten on each side. Ten on the other side, or you can alternate. One other great exercise that I love is keeping one leg up off on that step. All your weight stays forward, so that it's all targeted on that, whatever leg is up on that glut. You're just going to pretty much do a running man, I call it. You're going to bring that knee in, tap down, in, tap down, in, down, just like this. So again, it's a cardio burst here, but you're focus is on that glut. It's the same thing on the other side. Keep all the weight back in that heel, bring the knee up, down, up, just like this. As you can see, it works, because I'm out of breath, and that's how you use a step, for at home exercises for a sexy butt.

I'm the author of Secrets Tips and Tricks of a Powerful Memory. And I'd like to discuss very briefly how to remember foreign words and phrases, and in this case of the example I'm about to give you, foods. There is an Indian restaurant that I really like near my home. And I usually order the same thing, or I usually did order the same thing. But one day the waiter came to the table and he said, "Try something new. There is something that the Chef wants you to try. It's Merge Gell Freezy [SP]." I tried it, I liked it. I learned that it's available in most Indian restaurants, but it's often not on the menu. You have to ask for it. So I have to remember, what was that? Mer- Marig- Merge Gell Freezy. And here's how I remember it. I was driving to the restaurant. This is my story, I can make it up anyway I want. And I merged into a high-speed lane and a car hit me, I think it was his fault, he thinks it was my fault. Well, the police thought it was my fault. And after this merge accident they put me in jail just for a little while. But it was a very unpleasant experience, I was freezing. After this merge, I went into jail and I was freezing. And I want some of that hot Merge Gell Freezy to warm me up. That's how I remember foreign words.

How an iPad Can Help a Child w/ Autism | Autism

Well, we're using it for children anyway. It's a great tool, but there's a balance that's important. And for children with an autism spectrum disorder where language and communication is an issue, definitely there's a place for using technology. But to a point because, for example, something like the PECS system, which is the Picture Exchange Communication system, the iPad is great because, in fact, parents can even have it on the telephones and their Smartphones and use language or pictures for a child to communicate so there's less frustration and less meltdowns and actual communication back and forth. However, the danger with iPad and computers and any technology is the overuse of it and it being a substitute for social engagement. You know, technology should not be used as babysitting and there is a perseverative, repetitive aspect that we see when children with autism spectrum that this can feed and they can rigid and stuck on it. In fact, a little obsessive about it and have meltdowns when technology is taken away from them. So, it is a use, it has to be done carefully, and there are many wonderful games and software and learning and music and teaching tools that are available on computer and the iPad or the iPhone, for example, but it really should not be a substitute and it should not be overused. Technology, computers, television screen time is not recommended before two years of age. You know, sitting in front of screens is really not beneficial and the American Academy has got a limit of two hours of screen time for children older than two years of age. I would be very careful in doing it on a gradient. I would rather work with other modalities which engage people. And even if you use an iPad, it's yourself and another adult being involved as this just being a tool and not something the child is doing repeatedly by themselves. Yes, they have a fascination and they be very good at it because it is 2-dimensional and it is very linear and structured and gives them the kind of information that children tend to have a tendency to collect, which is information, concrete data. The colors, the lights, the movement is all stimulating, but there has to be the balance and it is not a therapeutic modality, it is something that can be used in the therapeutic modality like with speech therapy or with behavior therapy and music. And the people are using music on the iPad and that, I think, is fine, but I really believe that there is a place for it and it has to be done with balance and responsibility.

The best exercises are obviously an array of just simple squat, lunge, any of those basic exercises that you can always build on. You can start off with a squat. Then, you can add weights with your squat or you can add a squat jump, adding a jump to your squat, adding a little cardio aspect to your squat, anything else. You can always, starting off with those basic squats and lunges, you can always build on them. That's what the best thing about those foundational exercises is. A great way to really get into those glute muscles is to switch it up and create a routine out of those exercises. I teach a lot of booty classes and a lot of the fundamentals of those classes are just switching up the exercises. Starting off with that basic squat, adding on to that squat with a knee raise, and then moving on to a lunge, just isolating that glute as much as possible, creating a sequence of exercises. That's going to be the best way to target the glute. The classes that I teach for booty blast class, what I call it, are usually 40 to 45 minutes of all glute-focused exercises. You can create your routine from any kind of exercises, any kind of squat or lunge exercises. Just put it together, do it for about 30 minutes a day, and that's really going to help you get that sexy butt. in terms of eating tips, I wouldn't say there's really anything, specifically, to eat in order to get a sexy butt. Just eating a healthy diet. Most people tend to think that if you just eat a lot, cookies, ice cream, that it's going to fatten your butt up. It might fatten your butt up, but it's not going to be a pretty fat butt. It's going to be a little mushy, so you want to make sure that you're still eating healthy and you're still doing these exercises. Those are some tips I can give you for helping you shape your sexy butt.

This is truly a beautiful journey into the world of Wing Chun, and how its influence continues until this day. “Absorb what is useful, Discard what is not, add what is uniquely your own.” - Bruce Lee ~ About Master Wong ~ Master Wong never had an easy life through childhood.
